- Night Trips Installation file.

- Insert Night Trips CD into CD-ROM drive.
- Access your CD-ROM drive (e.g. E: F: followed be ENTER.)
- AT CD prompt type "INSTALL". You will be prompted for the
- hard drive to install necessary files (e.g. C:, D:).
- After installation is complete, it will have created an
- NTRIPS directory on the specified hard drive. There are six batch
- files that are used to invoke the application in different
- video modes.

- NT15.bat is for computers that are using a supported high
- color (32,000 colors) video adapter.

- NTP15.BAT is for computers that are using a supported high
- color (32,000 colors) video adapter and will be running the
- application in protected mode.

- NT8.bat is for computers that are using a supported VGA
- color (256 colors) video adapter.

- NTP8.bat is for computers that are using a supported VGA
- color (256 colors) video adapter and will be running the
- application in protected mode.

- NTGS.bat is for computers that display the video in 256
- shades of Grey (GREYSCALE).

- NTPGS.bat is for computers that display the video in 256
- shades of Grey (GREYSCALE) and will be running the
- application in protected mode.

- Recommended computer configuration is as follows:
- 386/486-33 Mhz.
- Supported 15 bit high color VGA adapter.
- MPC compatible CD-ROM drive (minimum throughput of 150
- Kilobytes per second) for proper video playback.
- Microsoft or compatible mouse.
- VGA monitor compatible with video adapter.
- 640 KB base memory (580 KB base memory free.)
- 2 megabytes expanded memory.
- DOS 5.0 or higher.

- There is an environment variable that can be modified to
- allow computers below a 386-33 to play the video files
- without dropping video frames. To change this variable, use
- any text editor to access the desired batch file and change
- the "SS=0" variable to 1 to allow for sub-sampling. This
- will decrease the video window size, but will allow playback
- on slower processor's.

- NOTE: Driver must be installed into CONFIG.SYS as a device
- statement (e.g. device=path\driver_name).

- No video driver has to be installed for low resolution
- (320x200) in 8-bit (256 color) mode only.

- NOTE: If the CD-ROM drive letter is changed after installing
- this disk, you will need to run the installation again.

- NOTE: It is recommended that the Auto Config (AUDIO) function
- be enabled to insure the audio adapter is supported and
- configured properly.
