  1. Night Trips Installation file.
  2.  
  3. Insert Night Trips CD into CD-ROM drive.
  4. Access your CD-ROM drive (e.g. E: F: followed be ENTER.)
  5. AT CD prompt type "INSTALL". You will be prompted for the
  6. hard drive to install necessary files (e.g. C:, D:).
  7. After installation is complete, it will have created an 
  8. NTRIPS directory on the specified hard drive. There are six batch
  9. files that are used to invoke the application in different
  10. video modes.

  12. NT15.bat is for computers that are using a supported high
  13. color (32,000 colors) video adapter.
  14.  
  15. NTP15.BAT is for computers that are using a supported high
  16. color (32,000 colors) video adapter and will be running the
  17. application in protected mode.
  18.  
  19. NT8.bat is for computers that are using a supported VGA
  20. color (256 colors) video adapter.
  21.  
  22. NTP8.bat is for computers that are using a supported VGA
  23. color (256 colors) video adapter and will be running the
  24. application in protected mode.

  26. NTGS.bat is for computers that display the video in 256
  27. shades of Grey (GREYSCALE).

  29. NTPGS.bat is for computers that display the video in 256
  30. shades of Grey (GREYSCALE) and will be running the
  31. application in protected mode.

  33. Recommended computer configuration is as follows:
  34. 386/486-33 Mhz.
  35. Supported 15 bit high color VGA adapter.
  36. MPC compatible CD-ROM drive (minimum throughput of 150
  37. Kilobytes per second) for proper video playback.
  38. Microsoft or compatible mouse.
  39. VGA monitor compatible with video adapter.
  40. 640 KB base memory (580 KB base memory free.)
  41. 2 megabytes expanded memory.
  42. DOS 5.0 or higher.

  44. There is an environment variable that can be modified to
  45. allow computers below a 386-33 to play the video files
  46. without dropping video frames. To change this variable, use
  47. any text editor to access the desired batch file and change 
  48. the "SS=0" variable to 1 to allow for sub-sampling. This 
  49. will decrease the video window size, but will allow playback
  50. on slower processor's.

  55. compatibility driver loaded.(256 color only)

  58. compatibility driver loaded. (256 or 32,000 color support)

  60. ISI24X.SYS Speedstar 24X with Western Digital Chipset. (256
  61. or 32,000 color support)

  63. ISIATI88.SYS ATI video adapters. (256 color only)

  65. ISIHERCU.SYS Hercules In-Color adapter with appropriate VESA
  66. compatibility driver loaded. (256 color only)

  70. ISIQVSN.SYS Compaq QVision integrated video adapter. (256 or
  71. 32,000 color support)

  81. NOTE: Driver must be installed into CONFIG.SYS as a device
  82. statement (e.g. device=path\driver_name).

  84. No video driver has to be installed for low resolution
  85. (320x200) in 8-bit (256 color) mode only.

  87. NOTE: If the CD-ROM drive letter is changed after installing
  88. this disk, you will need to run the installation again.

  90. NOTE: It is recommended that the Auto Config (AUDIO) function
  91. be enabled to insure the audio adapter is supported and
  92. configured properly.
